Russell Crowe’s Indoor Garden Party — for the first time in Zurich
Academy Award and Golden Globe winner, the legendary “Gladiator” Russell Crowe is not only one of Hollywood’s most celebrated actors but also a musician with decades of experience. On 22 June 2027 he will perform with his band The Gentlemen Barbers at Theater 11 in Zurich, as part of the European tour of his show Indoor Garden Party.
“You may know that I’ve been making films for 30 years. But for the last 40 years I’ve been playing with a band in the evenings,” says Russell Crowe.
Indoor Garden Party is no ordinary concert. Crowe erases the line between stage and audience: between songs he tells stories, cracks jokes and shares behind-the-scenes tales from Hollywood — all in that instantly recognisable baritone audiences know from his films. The band’s music ranges from melancholic Irish folk to gospel, rugged country ballads, heavy blues and powerful stadium rock.
Crowe has spent the last four years working on The Gentlemen Barbers project, and decades of shared music-making connect him with the band’s musicians. The band’s distinctive voice is Irish singer Lorraine O’Reilly, with her husky, energetic vocals.
Crowe’s path to film began with music: bands, touring, records and later musicals, where a film director spotted him. More than 40 international awards later, he retains his love for live performance.
“Film is a craft where I’m locked into other people’s words. Music is my territory, where I bare my soul to the audience. We don’t just play a setlist — we live this evening together with you, face to face.”
